Area Study Map™ — Know Your Area. Own Your Data.

Area Study Map is a personal reconnaissance and situational awareness tool for preparedness-minded people. Map your neighborhood, plan routes, mark resources, and build a complete area study of the places that matter to you. Everything you create is stored locally on your own device. There are no accounts to sync, no cloud storage of your data, and no tracking. The app works offline, so your plans are available when the network is not.

Map and understand your area

Layer public reference data over your map to understand the ground around you. Tactical and critical grid layers show infrastructure, signals and communications, including MeshCore LoRa mesh repeaters. Alerts and event layers cover severe weather, wildfires, earthquakes, FEMA flood zones and shelters. Community and wilderness layers include trails, campsites, parks, natural features and foraging references.

Live intel without exposing your location

Reference layers are requested through privacy-preserving proxies using only a map bounding box. Your saved locations, notes and plans are never uploaded.

Plan, track and prepare

Use the PACE planner to build primary, alternate, contingency and emergency communication plans. Track supplies with the built-in inventory, record field notes, and keep your area study organized in one private place.

Privacy-first by design

Read the full security audit to see exactly what stays on your device and the few limited, public, read-only requests the app makes. Area Study Map is a one-time purchase with lifetime access.
